Week 12-Week 15(12/7/2025-1/8/2025) Lim Shi Zhe 0357534 Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) 3D Modeling: Final Project 1.0 Project Overview For our final assignment, Assignment 3 , our task was to create a 3D robot design that would be suitable for use in animation, games, or digital art. The key requirement was that the robot must have a human-like structure , including two arms, two legs, and a torso. Designs such as flying drones or purely mechanical machines without humanoid features were not allowed for this project. The learning focus of this assignment was to integrate all the 3D modeling skills we’ve developed so far, while effectively using digital tools and workflows for creative problem-solving , design referencing , and organized project execution . We were expected to demonstrate not just technical accuracy, but also a clear understanding of design intent and production-ready modeling practices. After doing research and considering different design inspi...

Week 10-Week 13(17/6/2025-12/7/2025) Lim Shi Zhe 0357534 Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) 3D Modeling: Assignment 2 1.0 Project Overview By Week 8, we were assigned our second major project, Assignment 2 , which required us to design and model a futuristic sci-fi object . The goal of this assignment was to practice creating a high-quality hard surface model using the techniques we had learned in class. The object could fall into one of several categories, such as a weapon (e.g., blaster, sword, or mech arm), a device (e.g., scanner, drone, or communicator), or a vehicle (e.g., bike, pod, mini mech, or robot). This assignment was not only about modeling a cool concept—it was also meant to deepen our understanding of mechanical forms, panelling, and functional design , while ensuring we maintained efficient topology and clean geometry throughout the modeling process. We were encouraged to approach the design with both creativity and technical discipline , paying c...

3D Modeling: Exercise 2

Week 8-Week 11(3/6/2025-24/6/2025) Lim Shi Zhe 0357534 Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) 3D Modeling: Exercise 2 1.0 Project Overview By Week 8, we were given Exercise 2 , which focused on creating a 3D model of a chess scene , including the chessboard and chess pieces . The goal of this exercise was to apply the new techniques we had learned, particularly object alignment , cloning , and arrangement of detailed objects . In this assignment, we were required to model our own version of a chess set , ensuring that both the chessboard and individual pieces (such as pawns, rooks, bishops, and the king) were accurately shaped and properly placed. Attention to proportion, symmetry, and repetition was important to maintain consistency and realism throughout the scene. We were also encouraged to study reference images to guide the design of each chess piece, especially when modeling more complex shapes like the king’s crown or cross . The final output needed to show clean ...

Week 6-Week 9(27/5/2025-10/6/2025) Lim Shi Zhe 0357534 Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) 3D Modeling: Assignment 1 1.0 Project Overview Move on to week 3, we were assigned to our first assignment. For the assignemnt, we were requested to complete model a toilet space. we need to use all the technique that we learn from the class to complete this task. In this assignment , we were required to create our own 3D model that includes various elements commonly found in a bathroom, such as a toilet , washbasin , mirror , window , floor , bathtub , and sink . We were also asked to find reference images to guide our modeling process and ensure accuracy. In addition, we needed to pay close attention to the details of each object to make the overall scene look more realistic and well-designed. 2.0 Project Progress Sink  For the sink, I started by creating a cube to serve as the main body. I then adjusted its position and scale , and removed the top face to create a b...

Week 1-Week 5(22/4/2025-20/5/2025) Lim Shi Zhe 0357534 Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) 3D Modeling: Exercise 1 1.0 Project Overview In the first class, teacher introduced us a new modeling software and outlined 3D modelling course. We download and install the software called Maya as the begining of the course. Then, teacher introduced us our first exercise (Exercise 1). In this exercise, he asked us to create basic objects in Maya which are polygon,  chair, a table, a mug, and a chess piece. 2.0 Project Progress Polygon For the first tutorial , I created several polygon which are cylinder, cone , cube and sphere. After that i resize it to similar size. After that, i also assign material to these polygon. Then , i create a area  light for the lighthing. Next, i render the whole thing using Arnold.  Chair For the chair , I started by creating a cube and resizing it to form the base of the seat. Then, I used the Insert Edge Loop tool to add edge loop...
